Our monthly Net, Org and Com charts show a continued downturn in all sectors, with few signs of slowing. While .COM has lost 50% of its value, .NET has also taken a large hit, losing 46% of its valuation from July 2008. .ORGs which has a slower trend upward have had a slwoer trend down, shedding only 42% of their total. All in all, the slide continues down for these non-premiums, dragging overall sales volume down considerably and pushing premium domains to a holding pattern for the next several months. |

December shows another downturn in the 3 Letter Domain name arena. This weakness is in line with general downturns across the globe, but still far exceeds the performance of any DOW component. While a decline is in effect, the power of the decline, or ROC (Rate of Change) is slowing. In Financial markets these are considered good times to begin anticipating a bottom or change. Chart Name is working on a comprehensive chart for all prime domain real estate, including volumes and revenues. Look for more from us after the holidays. |

All TLDs have continued their decline from September and October, resulting in a 10% discount to all three categories in the 3 Letter Domain field. The continued slides in .COM is likely to have the greatest impact as it is the most traded. .Net has shown no sign of stalling yet, and org is in its first slump, continuing downward. November 3 Letter Domain Name Chart As domains are a lagging indicator of economic conditions, we expect continued weakeness for December, with recovery in early 2009. As with most things in domaining, recovery can be both sudden and strong as investors look for opportunities to buy. Based on historical changes from 1999 through 2001, we are expecting that weakness in domaining as a rule will lessen, and moderation or stabilization will present itself in due time. For December, outlook is poor, possibly through January. As the greater market recovers or stalls, so will domaining, with 3 letter domains paving the way for most pricing. |

.Net continues in a downtrend, as the precipitous decline in .com halts momentarily. You can see the full chart view by clicking on the graph. Net and Org are charted on the left while Com pricing is charted on the right. October Chart Name Graph Org and Net show a tendency to be falling into a lower range, perhaps holding over the next few months. At this point .Com has been brought in line with the general trend of the TLD over a longer period. Many have implied the decline was long overdue. The holding pattern could simply be a place to rest for the interim. Please remember that these prices only reflect lowest letter patterns for these TLDs. Names such as QZX.com are charted in the graph. Pure Premiums have shown no dramatic decline, although sales have slowed - possibly indicated some downturn there. Mixed premium/non-premium have been hit in this decline to a degree. Please digg and comment this info whenever possible. Some incentive for us to continue charting these graphs, and adding more and more data, including numerical TLDs is more than welcome and will be rewarded. The drop in .com Three Letter domain names continues, pulling net and org prices down. Discussion and analysis of the chart continues below. You can click on the chart for a full-size image. September Name Chart Graph This large change in prices is likely a capitulation to a lower market point after a large acceleration in .com over the past two years. Net has been trending in a range after its big move in 2006. Prices may reduce slightly or continue in a general range for this TLD. Org has for the first time experienced a downturn which will probably place it into a trading range for a year without uptrending. |
