Our monthly Net, Org and Com charts show a continued downturn in all sectors, with few signs of slowing. While .COM has lost 50% of its value, .NET has also taken a large hit, losing 46% of its valuation from July 2008. .ORGs which has a slower trend upward have had a slwoer trend down, shedding only 42% of their total. All in all, the slide continues down for these non-premiums, dragging overall sales volume down considerably and pushing premium domains to a holding pattern for the next several months. |

Dow vs Com March Domain Charts
Both the Dow and non-premium LLL properties continued to slide this month, dragging all mixed character and non-com domains down with them. For the period of October 2007 through March 2009, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has shed 51% of its value. During the same period, COM domains have lost only 22% of its base value. However, from peak to trough for LLL.com, July 2008 through March 2009, non-premium lll dot coms have lost a total of 50% - in line with the overall loss in the DJIA. Calculations for LLL.com are based on non-premium names - those composed entirely of QXYZ or similar poor combinations of acronyms considered unuseable, often including the letters JWK or sometimes VU. For premium domain pricing and averages, consult the Composite LLL.com and Premium LLL.com charts. |

The chart above tracks sales of LLN, NNL, LNL and NLL names, the most common of the mixed character domains. Data from December showed a potential downturn, but the past two months have made this decline much faster and more dramatic than expected. The general lots of weak mixed characters are already at the $150 mark, quite surprising for this one-strong catagory. However, our system uses valuation as part of a running total of sales over a period of months, causing some lag to the data. The sales and changes were already in the works, best guess is that next two months will be stable relative to the volatility we see here today. |

Sales volume has been weak for the past several months, as holders of LLL.com domains wait for a better market and buyers have been holding their cash. Pricing as an average has remained unchanged through the two year period, and is likely to continue in a holding pattern until economic conditions improve. As a composite of all LLL sales, the chart above is not indicative of any individual LLL market but the industry as a whole. |
